DTI Opens 2026 Trade Fair Calendar with Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair | Mandaluyong City, Philippines – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and One Town One Product (BMDPO), will launch its 2026 trade fair program with the DTI–Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair, scheduled from February 18 to 22 at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall. The event is free and open to the public.
Mandated to promote the efficient marketing of local products and expand opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), DTI-BMDPO continues to position national trade fairs as key platforms for business growth, buyer linkage, and product development.
Strong performance in 2025
DTI-BMDPO reported sustained momentum from its 2025 trade fair initiatives, implemented in collaboration with industry stakeholders. Ten national Bagong Pilipinas trade fairs, along with international participation across priority sectors, generated a combined ₱621.1 million in cash sales, confirmed orders, and ongoing negotiations. The events directly benefited 1,490 MSMEs and drew more than 163,000 buyers and visitors nationwide.
The bureau noted that these results underscore the value of consistent trade fair programming in helping enterprises move beyond one-time sales toward long-term market relationships and brand-building.
Focus on sustainable and design-driven products
The 2026 National Trade Fair will showcase a curated selection of eco-friendly, high-value Filipino products aimed at buyers, entrepreneurs, and sustainability-conscious consumers.
Among its highlights is an upgraded Philippine Sustainability Pavilion featuring furniture, textiles, fashion, and handicrafts made from coconut-based materials, engineered bamboo, natural fibers, plant-based dyes, and native grasses sourced from various regions. The fair will also feature innovative applications of recyclable and reusable materials transformed into functional pieces for homes, offices, and commercial spaces.
Visitors can also participate in daily activities such as craft workshops, product demonstrations, and cultural performances designed to deepen appreciation for Filipino creativity and traditional craftsmanship.
Buyer’s Day to boost business linkages
Complementing the main exhibition is DTI Buyer’s Day 2026: Sourcing and Connections, a pre-event activity focused on strengthening business-to-business (B2B) partnerships between MSMEs and institutional buyers. The initiative also recognizes corporate partners and organizations that continue to support DTI-led trade events.
Together, the National Trade Fair and Buyer’s Day provide an integrated platform connecting enterprises to both consumer and institutional markets, reinforcing DTI-BMDPO’s market-driven approach to enterprise development.
Supporting MSME competitiveness
DTI-BMDPO emphasized that its trade fairs serve as more than retail venues, functioning as development platforms where MSMEs can test products, refine branding, adjust pricing, and respond to consumer demand in real time. National-scale events also provide visibility and market exposure that help enterprises prepare for both domestic and export opportunities.
DTI-BMDPO Supervising Head Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza Bautista said the 2026 trade fair calendar is designed to strengthen both retail and B2B market linkages. She noted that with 12 trade fair events lined up for the year, the program aims to create a system that combines consumer engagement with sourcing and networking opportunities, enabling MSMEs to achieve sustained market participation.
Advancing the Bagong Pilipinas agenda
Anchored on the Bagong Pilipinas vision, the 2026 National Trade Fair underscores DTI’s commitment to sustainable production, elevated Filipino design, and inclusive market access. As the opening event of the year’s trade fair calendar, it sets the direction for stronger buyer engagement, expanded sourcing opportunities, and more meaningful business outcomes for Filipino enterprises.
The event offers a venue for buyers, partners, and the public to discover sustainable products, explore business collaborations, and support locally made innovations that reflect the creativity and resilience of Filipino MSMEs.
